X Premium Plus Subscription got a hike in prices by almost 40%. The Social media company made the largest raise in pricing since Elon Musk bought it.
According to X (formerly known as Twitter), it was adjusting the prices to support the experience it offers. Also, the new prices will be immediately applied to new subscribers and the existing ones will pay their current rates until Jan 20.
X provides premium plus subscribers ad-free browsing that allows an uninterrupted experience and features like expanded access to use Grok AI chatbot and Radar that gives real-time X analytics on popular trends through keyword tracking.
Since X Premium Plus Subscription got a hike in prices, it will first affect US users, as the subscription goes up from $16 to $22 a month or from $168 to $229 for annual subscriptions. The European Union will see the price hike to €21 from €16 monthly. Canada will see a rise in rates to $29 from $20.While the international markets face the same increases.
Fortunately, X Premium plus Subscription got a hike in prices but the rates for the basic tier and X Premium subscriptions stayed unchanged at $3 and $8. Earlier, X has also made changes in its revenue-sharing practices to make sure that the Twitter subscription fees directly contribute to creators’ payouts.
