WhatsApp is working on a long-awaited feature, “edit sent Messages,” which is still in the development process.
The most recent update for WhatsApp beta on iOS, version 23.6.0.74, is bringing a special notification feature that will let users know when their edited message has been sent to all conversation members without any issues.
This new feature will let users edit their mistakes faster. WABetaInfo, a website that monitors updates and changes in the WhatsApp beta version, was the first to notice the introduction of this new feature.
As per the reports, users can edit messages within 15 minutes of sending, and the edited text will be marked with an “Edited” tag within the messages bubble, similar to the “Forwarded” tag on messages.
However, there is a downside to this WhatsApp feature – it will exclusively be accessible to users who have the most recent version of the app. Those with an older version will not have access to the feature until they upgrade to the latest version compatible with it. WABetaInfo also warned that the new feature would only let you edit messages, not multimedia.
It’s also been important to note that if you have an updated version and you edited it, the message will only reflect if the other person has the updated version of the app.
However, the official release still hasn’t been announced by the company, but you will iOS users will get their hands on this feature.
If you want to try out new features instantly, you can sign up for “WhatsApp Beta” on Android, and the newest trial feature of the app can be downloaded from here. You can also sign up for the iOS beta program too.
