After years of delays, Tesla releases ASS and Dumb Summon features in the most recent software update for Tesla.
The Actually Smart Summon (ASS) feature will allow owners to actually move their vehicles from a parking spot to a specific nearby location. The release note states: “Buckle up for the ride of your life, except, surprise! You’re not in the car. ASS (Actually Smart Summon) lets your vehicle come to you or head to a spot that you select, all on its own. It’s like magic but with more tech and fewer hand gestures”
To use this feature, open your Tesla app, hit the Summon tab, and it gets a live feed from your car’s cameras to guide your direction. Here are two options available:
- Come to Me: Press and hold to have your Tesla come to you.
- Go to Target: Set where you want your Tesla to go, after that press and hold to send it on its merry mode.
Additionally, the Dumb Summon will allow Tesla owners to move their Tesla forward or back with simple controls directly in the Mobile App. However, in the new update, Tesla releases ASS and Dumb Summon features that should only be used in parking lots or driveways and warns drivers to “stay vigilant.”
