Apple Claims OpenELM is Not Using YouTube for Training the Apple Intelligence

OpenELM is Not Using YouTube for Training

There were rumors earlier this week about the tech giant Apple using YouTube subtitles to train its open-source OpenELM model without consent. This includes thousands of videos, including the big YouTubers like MrBeast. However, as per the report from 9to5mac, Apple rejects the claim that OpenELM is not using YouTube for training Apple intelligence. So, it means that OpenELM does not power any of Apple’s AI or machine learning (ML) features.

Apple says that it makes the OpenELM Model to contribute to the research community, not to power any of the Apple intelligence features. So, because OpenELM is not using YouTube for training Apple Intelligence, it makes sense that YouTube data, including subtitles, is not used to power Apple Intelligence.

Apple has formerly spoken about how it selects to be clear about its AI model training procedure. Well, it is done via licensed data to enhance the features.
