Meta AI studio can make AI characters for Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. The idea is to let business owners and creators use these AI profiles to interact with people on their behalf.

Meta said that users can access these AI versions either by using “AI Chat” directly on Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger or by using “Meta AI Studio” on its website. These AI bots will be able to talk to humans directly in chat threads and respond to comments on the author’s behalf, but they will be tagged as AI.

Even though Meta’s pitch is aimed at creators, anyone can access this feature to create their own AI. AI can generate auto-replies, share links, and interact with other accounts and people. However, users can restrict AI from doing certain things.

Meta, in a blog post on Monday, shared that this feature uses Llama 3.1, and the U.S. creators are already using these AI characters.
