How to get no name among us for PC & Mobile? To avoid suspicion while killing crewmates, imposters need every advantage they can get. To make it harder for other players to identify which person is committing crimes, many Among Us players used the simple trick of creating an invisible name during games.
During online games, while it is possible to use the trick, it flags blank names as “inappropriate” and disables the ability for PC gamers to copy and paste a blank Unicode symbol.
Some Among Us game modes still allow you to use the trick, so you may still be interested to learn how it works. Among Us on PC, iOS, and Android can be created with a blank name following this guide.
In Among Us for iOS and Android, how do you get a blank name
Among Us does not allow you to leave any blank spaces in your character name. You will see an empty box shake disapprovingly whenever you hit Create Game or Find Game. Known as Hangul Filler, the Unicode character appears as a blank space, but when you start your game it recognizes the presence of text.
Mobile Among Us gamers will find the trick relatively simple to perform:
Copy the Unicode
The Hangul Filler Unicode has been placed between these two quotation marks: “.” Tap and hold between the two, then tap the Copy pop-up that appears.
Open up Among Us
Select Local or Online when you start Among Us. A blank field will appear where you can enter your character’s name.
Paste the Unicode
You’ll see your phone’s keyboard interface when you tap inside the field. In the white field, tap again to see the Paste option if you have already copied the Unicode. Tap Done after pasting the Hangul Filler.
Congratulations! Your name is now mysteriously blank, so your competitors will be confused. Yet as we mentioned above, you’ll only be able to use it in some of the game modes in Among Us.
In particular, you can use it when playing Local games with other players on the same Wi-Fi network or during Freeplay when you practice your skills. InnerSloth will block you if you attempt to host or participate in an online game, regardless of its privacy.
How to create a blank name in Among Us for PC
The trick used to be simple: You copied the Hangul Filler Unicode and pasted it into the character-name field. The in-game paste was blocked by the developers, and there is no easy way to input Unicode on a keyboard, so we had to come up with a creative solution. Among Us, player Gameboy Six 6328 found a relatively straightforward way to edit your character’s name, which we thank for the following workaround.
Give yourself an Among Us name
You can download Among Us, choose a play mode, and give yourself a name if you haven’t already. To edit it, you’ll need a placeholder there.
Open up your Local Disk folders
Open your local files by closing Among Us and opening them on your desktop. Afterward, you’ll need to open the Users folder and enter the User folder that contains your username.
Open up your AppData
To progress, you’ll have to search through a hidden folder. If you type “/appdata” next to your username in the address bar, you’ll be brought to the AppData folder. From there, select the LocalLow folder.
Open PlayerPrefs
You’re getting close to the finish line. The game files for Among Us are located in the Innersloth folder. Choose an editor, such as Notepad, from the Open With menu when you right-click the PlayerPrefs file.
Add the Hangul Filler Unicode
We’re going to do some straightforward hacking now. After a number and true-false statement corresponding to your player settings, you’ll see your placeholder name where it says Not Sus for us. We have now copied the Hangul Filler Unicode once again, which is enclosed in quotation marks: “.
(Note: In some browsers, the Unicode isn’t visible, which results in the quotation marks appearing empty. In this case, copy the two quotation marks; the Unicode will be inside, and the extra marks can be deleted afterward.)
Copy the Unicode into Notepad, then delete your existing name. Save and close the file.
It’s time for anonymous Among Us
The first time you open Among Us again, your name will appear there! You can see in the field that the text cursor does not appear centered next to the invisible Unicode.
InnerSloth has previously stated that you will not be able to use your invisible name online until the feature is re-enabled. As of now, you can only play Among Us in Local or Freeplay mode with a hidden name.
One last method: Blind, glitchy luck
We cite this last example only because most Among Us players play online and will be disappointed that this trick is no longer available. Although, it is technically possible to obtain a blank name in Among Us without any hacking or even intending to do so.
We were surprised when my character’s name and avatar became invisible in the waiting room when we loaded a private Among Us game with some friends. No one knew where I was or who I was. Furthermore, the glitch persisted even after the game began. My avatar was viewed by some crew members as a series of question marks, while others saw an avatar, but it wasn’t the right color. At the time of a group meeting, not a single participant saw my name.
The invisible name ultimately brought me luck; I played as a successful Imposter since nobody suspected me whenever a dead body was found. Here is the unusual victory screen I received at the end.
