Google is updating its App Store policies to ensure that the Android apps on the Google Play Store truly work.
At the end of the next month, on August 31, the Google Play Store will delete Android apps that have nothing to do or have no function. Moreover, apps that don’t install, load, freeze, or crash will not be allowed on the Play Store. Apps that have one basic feature, like showing a single image, will also not be allowed.
According to Google, “We are upgrading the spam and minimum functionality policies to make sure applications meet raised standards for the collection and engage users via worth functionality and content user experience.”
However, Google’s previous policy was more light, demanding that applications offer a constant, engaging, approachable user experience. Now, the company is raising the bar on what that looks like, and the Google Play Store will delete Android apps next month.
