Google Is Upgrading Gemini Via Spotify Extension

Google Is Upgrading Gemini Via Spotify Extension

Google’s AI Assistant currently lets you access your YouTube music playlist easily. Now, it seems like Spotify users might also be able to use it, as Google is upgrading Gemini via Spotify extension in the near future.

Google Gemini allows you to use third-party and Google apps within the voice assistant. An APK teardown of the Google app has revealed that a Spotify extension for Google Assistant is in work and will let you play both podcasts and music.

Android Authority got the feature to work on their device by asking the chatbot to play a song on Spotify. The AI assistant first showed a brief YouTube music panel and then played the music on Spotify while keeping it in the background instead of streaming it.

It is up to Google whether they let the Spotify extension work or not, but for now, it still needs some time. Google is upgrading Gemini via Spotify extension and several other unannounced extensions, including Google Home, Google Keep, Tasks, Calendar, and Utilities.
