After an absence of four years, Fortnite returns to Apple and Android stores. In iPhone, it is only available in the European Union and globally for Android. The popular royale battle game was removed from the stores in 2020 because of a dispute over in-app purchases on Android and Apple stores.
Users can download Fortnite through the newly launched Epic Games Store or other independent third-party mobile stores. It is only available for iOS users in the EU because the EU law forces Apple to allow third-party apps in marketplaces. Epic accepts that the downloading process is lengthy, blaming it on Apple and Google for their poor-quality install experiences.
The current game catalog in the Epic stores only features Epic’s titles like Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe, but Epic plans on expanding the library over time.
Fortnite’s new season is said to be based on Marvel’s Doctor Doom. Epic Games has 75 million active users on its PC and plans to add 100 million more by the end of this year on Mobile stores as Fortnite returns to Apple and Android stores.
