The design platform, Canva increases prices by 300% for AI features for the business-oriented subscription that supports adding multiple users. According to TechCrunch in the US, the Canvas subscription plan increases from $120 per year to $500 per year for a five-person team. However, Canva told users in an email that a 40% discount will be applied for the higher prices to bring that down to $300 for a year.

In Australia, the per month fee for five users was $13.50 AUS (about USD 9) for each user. But now, it is $39.99 AUS (about USD 26) means a team of five will pay about 68% more, without any discounts.

Canva increases prices are reasonable due to the expanded product experience including AI-powered tools that have been added to the Canava platform. A Canva spokesman said in a statement, “Our suite of products has grown significantly in the last couple of years with the launch of new offerings like the Visual Suite and Magic Studio.”

While Canva increases prices by 300% for AI Features, it has also quietly changed its team for minimum 3-person pricing to 100$ per person or 10$ per month for each user. The spokesperson said, our original pricing reflected the early stage of this product and has remained unchanged for the last four years. We’re now updating the price for customers on this older plan to reflect our expanded product experience”. However, Enterprise and Pro users’ pricing hasn’t changed yet.

The Canva subscribers took to social media to talk about the hike in prices and also showed disappointment with the fact that Canva told about the changes through emails instead of publically.
