ByteDance Launched Jimeng AI In Competition To Open AI’s Sora

ByteDance Launched Jimeng AI

TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance launched Jimeng AI in competition with Open AI’s Sora. This latest AI app can generate AI videos from text prompts. This generative AI system is available for Chinese users on the Apple Store, followed by its recent availability on Android.

Jimeng AI is developed by FaceU Technology, owned by ByteDance, which is popular for its video-generating app CapCut. This new offering enables users to create short-form videos and images through text prompts and draws significant comparisons to Sora, which leverages GPT LLM power.

“Jimeng” means “dream” in Chinese. You can generate text-to-video prompts for marketing, entertainment, and education.

It allows users to make 80 images and 26 videos for free, and for more generations, a monthly subscription fee of 69 yuan ($9.70) or an annual fee of 659 yuan ($92) is available.

Although ByteDance launched Jimeng AI in competition with Open AI’s Sora, it is expanding in the AI world with its latest developments and association with TikTok, which is limited to China.
