In recent weeks, Android has encountered many malicious threats, and a new threat is making headers that go beyond credentials and financial data theft. This new Android threat BingoMod, deletes everything on your phone. It wipes out everything, leaves no trace for investigation, and suddenly empty your bank account.
Cleafy discovered this new Android Remote Access Trojan (RAT), which is named BingoMod. It can bypass all the security countermeasures made by banks.
The malicious software enters mainly through SMS, presenting itself as a security app. It gets access when we give it access to scanning threats and quietly steals all the sensitive information. Once it is successful in transferring funds, it wipes out all the data, removing any traces that hinder forensic investigation.
This malware is not present in the Play Store yet. To be safe from the new Android threat BingoMod deletes everything on your phone. Android users are advised to only install applications from the Google Play Store and not use any third-party sites. You should also be careful, avoid clicking on links in emails or SMS texts, and use strong passwords.
