T-Mobile Released Beta Service for Starlink Satellite

T-Mobile said in an announcement that now T-Mobile released beta service for Starlink Satellite connectivity for FREE! It will enable text messaging via satellites in dead zones not covered by cell towers.

According to T-Mobile’s statement, the service using Starlink’s low-Earth orbit satellites will “provide [e] coverage for the 500,000 square miles of land in the United States not covered by earth-bound cell towers.” Starlink parent SpaceX has so far launched over 300 satellites with direct-to-cell capabilities.

Additionally, the registration page also said that “we expect the beta to begin in early 2025, starting with texting and expanding to data and voice over time. T-Mobile released beta service for Starlink Satellite connectivity for free postpaid customers but capacity is limited.”

The Telco Company announced on Monday that the free beta program is available to all T-mobile customers with compatible devices and postpaid voice plans, although first responders will receive priority access due to limited initial capacity. Moreover, the company also said that it will gradually expand to more devices through software updates.

The satellite uses T mobile radio waves to connect devices across 1.29 million square.
